Megan's Bedroom Sources

My friend Hannah and I have been DIYing our own homes for a few years now, but lately we've been wanting to stretch our skills a bit and use them for someone else who really needs it. And we didn’t want it to just be for a friend or family, so we asked our community if there was anyone they knew who needed a little good luck, a little pick-me-up.

We received dozens of nominations, and as we were reading through them, Megan’s story really stood out to us. After becoming a single mom of 3 this past year and putting everyone else's needs before her own, this mama deserved a sanctuary- all for HER!

Megan has been a pillar of her community for over a decade. She was a special ed teacher for 10 years and was the founding program director for MOVE inclusive dance studio, which teaches dance to people of all ages with special needs. She is also an advocate for special needs families in her community.

She became a single mom while pregnant with her third child, and after moving into a new house, she just needed a space that felt like herself.
